For the Mac and Cheese:

  • 12 oz elbow macaroni (or pasta of choice)

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1½ cups cooked lobster meat, chopped

For the Topping:

  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

Cook the Pasta:

  1. Boil the pasta – Cook macaroni in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Make the Cheese Sauce:

  1. Prepare the roux – In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and whisk in flour, cooking for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.
  2. Add milk and cream – Slowly whisk in warm milk and heavy cream, stirring continuously until thickened.
  3. Season the sauce – Stir in Dijon mustard, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Melt the cheese – Reduce heat to low and add cheddar, Gruyère, and Parmesan, stirring until smooth and creamy.

Combine the Pasta and Lobster:

  1. Mix the pasta and lobster – Add the cooked pasta and chopped lobster meat to the cheese sauce, stirring gently to coat.

Prepare the Topping:

  1. Make the breadcrumb topping – In a bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs, melted butter, Parmesan, and parsley.

Assemble and Bake:

  1. Transfer to a baking dish – Pour the mac and cheese into a greased baking dish.
  2. Add the topping – Sprinkle the buttery panko mixture evenly over the top.
  3. Bake at 375°F (190°C) – Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
