Gordon Ramsay Panna Cotta

Gordon Ramsay Panna Cotta

Gordon Ramsay’s Panna Cotta is a classic Italian dessert made by gently simmering cream, sugar, and vanilla, then setting it with gelatin to create a silky, custard-like texture. It is typically served chilled and topped with fruit compote, caramel, or chocolate drizzle.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (or 1 vanilla bean, split and scraped)
  • 1 ½ tsp powdered gelatin
  • 2 tbsp cold water

For Garnish (Optional):

  • Fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries)
  • Berry coulis or caramel sauce
  • Shaved chocolate or crushed nuts
  • Mint leaves for decoration

Instructions

Prepare the Gelatin:

  1. Sprinkle gelatin over cold water – Let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.

Heat the Cream Mixture:

  1. Warm the cream, milk, and sugar – In a saucepan over medium heat, stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is steaming (do not boil).
  2. Add vanilla – Stir in vanilla extract or scraped vanilla bean seeds.

Incorporate the Gelatin:

  1. Remove from heat and add gelatin – Stir until fully dissolved and smooth.

Chill the Panna Cotta:

  1. Pour into ramekins – Divide the mixture into 4 small ramekins or dessert cups.
  2. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours – Until fully set and firm.

Serve and Enjoy:

  1. Unmold or serve in ramekins – Run a knife around the edges and invert onto a plate if unmolding.
  2. Top with fresh fruit, sauce, or chocolate – Add garnishes before serving.
