Gordon Ramsay Pineapple Pizza – Sweet, Savory & Perfectly Balanced

Gordon Ramsay Pineapple Pizza

Gordon Ramsay’s Pineapple Pizza is a thin-crust, wood-fired-style pizza that elevates the traditional Hawaiian pizza with fresh ingredients, high-quality cheese, and a slightly spicy tomato sauce. Instead of basic ham, Ramsay uses prosciutto or crispy pancetta, balancing the sweetness of the pineapple with salty, umami-rich flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Dough (Optional, or Use Store-Bought Pizza Dough):

  • 2 cups 00 flour or all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 1 tsp dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the Pizza Sauce:

  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp dried oregano or fresh basil

For the Toppings:

  • 1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup fresh pineapple, thinly sliced
  • 4 slices prosciutto or pancetta (or ham)
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tbsp fresh basil, chopped
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Dough (If Making From Scratch):

  1. Mix yeast and warm water – Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Combine ingredients – In a bowl, mix flour, salt, sugar, and olive oil. Add yeast mixture and knead until smooth.
  3. Let it rise – Cover and let sit for 1 hour until doubled in size.

Prepare the Sauce:

  1. Sauté garlic in olive oil – Cook over medium heat for 30 seconds.
  2. Simmer tomatoes and spices – Add crushed tomatoes, red pepper flakes, salt, pepper, and oregano. Cook for 10 minutes, then set aside.

Assemble the Pizza:

  1. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C) – If using a pizza stone, heat it for 30 minutes.
  2. Roll out the dough – Form a thin, round crust.
  3. Spread the sauce – Use just enough to coat the dough evenly.
  4. Add cheese and toppings – Layer mozzarella, pineapple, and prosciutto.

Bake and Finish:

  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes – Until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  2. Add final touches – Sprinkle with Parmesan, fresh basil, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Slice and serve immediately – Enjoy warm with a drizzle of olive oil.
