Gordon Ramsay Sausage Rolls

Gordon Ramsay’s Sausage Rolls feature flaky, buttery puff pastry wrapped around seasoned sausage meat, enhanced with herbs, mustard, and spices. The rolls are baked until golden brown and crispy, creating a perfect balance of crunch and juicy filling.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 12 oz sausage meat (pork or beef)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme or parsley, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp breadcrumbs (optional, for texture)
  • 1 tbsp milk (for brushing pastry edges)

For Garnish (Optional):

 

  • Sesame seeds or poppy seeds
  • Extra herbs for topping

Instructions

Prepare the Sausage Filling:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Mix the sausage meat with Dijon mustard, salt, black pepper, paprika, thyme, garlic, and breadcrumbs in a bowl.

Assemble the Sausage Rolls:

  1. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
  2. Cut the pastry in half lengthwise to create two strips.
  3. Divide the sausage filling into two portions and place them in the center of each strip.
  4. Brush the pastry edges with milk, then fold the pastry over the sausage, sealing the edges with a fork.

Bake the Sausage Rolls:

  1. Cut into smaller rolls – Slice each log into 2-inch pieces for bite-sized rolls.
  2. Brush with egg wash – This gives them a golden finish.
  3. Sprinkle sesame or poppy seeds (optional).
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

Serve and Enjoy:
