Gordon Ramsay Braised Cabbage

Gordon Ramsay’s Braised Cabbage is a slow-cooked, tender cabbage dish, often prepared with butter, stock, vinegar, and seasonings. The braising process softens the cabbage while deepening its flavors, making it a rich and comforting side dish.

Scale
  • 1 medium green or red cabbage, shredded
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter or olive oil
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup chicken or vegetable stock
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar or balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar or honey (optional, for sweetness)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp caraway seeds or fennel seeds (optional, for extra depth)

  1. Heat butter or olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced onions and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add the Cabbage and Liquids:
