Gordon Ramsay Chimichurri Sauce

Gordon Ramsay Chimichurri Sauce

Chimichurri is a traditional Argentine sauce made from fresh herbs, garlic, vinegar, and olive oil, commonly used as a marinade or drizzle over grilled meats. Gordon Ramsay’s version is bright, zesty, and slightly spicy, making it a perfect steak sauce, chicken topping, or dipping sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup fresh parsley (finely chopped)
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro (finely chopped, optional)
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ¼ cup red wine vinegar
  • ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • ½ tsp kosher salt (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice (optional, for extra brightness)

Instructions

  1. Finely chop the herbs – Using a sharp knife, finely chop the parsley and cilantro (if using).
  2. Mince the garlic – Peel and mince the garlic cloves as finely as possible.
  3. Mix the dry ingredients – In a medium bowl, combine parsley, cilantro, garlic, red pepper flakes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Add the vinegar and lemon juice – Pour in the red wine vinegar and fresh lemon juice (if using) and mix well.
  5. Slowly add olive oil – While stirring continuously, drizzle in the extra virgin olive oil until the mixture is well combined.
  6. Let it sit for flavor development – Allow the sauce to sit for at least 10-15 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld together.
  7. Serve fresh – Drizzle over steak, chicken, seafood, or vegetables, or use as a dipping sauce.
